"Box Lee originally had an old 2 colour 66 inch rotary die cutter, and while we managed with simple 1 and 2 colour work, we found an increasing demand for 3 and 4 colour die cut cartons.  This demand also created a need for very tight registration on the printing without reducing our run speeds and manufacturing efficiencies.  In 2011, we put our requirements to the various manufacturers of high speed, high graphic capable rotary die cutters and after much analysis of all the various options available, we accepted the Goettsch proposal for the Dong Fang Apstar.  The machine was installed and commissioned in 2012 and has proven to be a valuable capital investment.  Our Apstar is already three years old and continues to hold a 0.75mm print register tolerance while running at an efficient speed.  A new feature which we did not have on our old die cutter is a dwell section which allows the ink to dry properly before entering the die cutting section.  This has allowed a remarkable improvement in the smudging of the printing.  We have also enjoyed the central computer console which has allowed  for easy and quick set ups, particularly the zeroing function which memorizes past set-ups and allows a quick set up of a previously run job.  Since we have installed our Apstar, we have benefited tremendously by both increasing our rotary die cut capacity and allowing us to supply into previously unavailable market sectors"

Box Lee had an old 1989 Klett Printer/Slotter/Die Cutter and upgraded to a new Dong Fang Apstar HG 1624 4-color Rotary Die Cutter.
