How to order steel rule: Please advise the following details:

HEIGHT: For example, .990 or .970; to convert from mm to inches, divide by 25.4

THICKNESS: For example, 4 point (.056” / 1.42mm thick) or 3 point (.042” / 1.06mm thick). Generally, 4 point is used for rotary dies.

TYPE: Cutting, Scoring, Perforating – for serrated cutting rule, indicate the number of teeth per inch (TPI) – typically 8 or 12

BEVEL: Center or Side

STRAIGHT OR CURVED:

If straight, with notches (straight notched <SN> ) or without notches (straight not notched <SNN> )

If curved, the circumference of the die cylinder – for example, 60 or 50 inches, and the angle in reference to the cylinder, such as 45 or 90 degrees. Both measures are written together as “60/90” or “50/90”.

For perforating rule, it is necessary to know:

Length of the cutting section
Length of the space between teeth
Depth of the spaces

NOTE: Perf rule is made from 12 TPI, center bevel rule. For flat die rule, please also indicate the hardness.

Ejection Rubber

A hard-to-beat, excellent ejector with very rapid recovery. This has been the workhorse standard for rotary die cutting for many years.

Helmold Rule Cutter

Available in 1-1/2” height. Handles up to 6 point rule. We recommend purchasing spare blades.

Helmold E-Z Heavy-Duty Notcher

Handles up to 6 point rule. A 2-hole version handles up to ½” wide notches. Please specify “relieved” for rotary rule. A 4-hole version works well with pre-bent materials.

Helmold E-Z Bender Bendall

Includes standard accessories. Handles 3, 4 and even 6 point rule. Handle design on the E-Z Bender requires one fourth the effort of regular bender. Ask about additional accessories.

Helmond Cutawl K-12 Diemaker’s Saw

High-speed, portable, precision saw designed for making rotary dies. Cuts straight lines, curves, or patterns with the free-floating 360 degree swivel head. Model K-12C is available with flat or curved base plates for cutting either 66” or 50” rotary die boards. Available in 115V or 230V, 50-60 HZ motors.

Serrated Punches

National Steel Rule’s line of serrated punches cut cleanly through all board grades, including double wall and wet board right off the corrugator, made from the highest quality tube steel.

Please advise outside diameter and bevel.

Die Bolts and Die Inserts

All sizes available – Metric and Imperial. Please advise diameter, threads and length. For inserts, advise if slotted hardened, with or without adhesive.
